Two different countries and similar presidents. In Syria and Sudan Bashar al-Asad and Omer al-Bashir both face a plight of governance. In the name of foiling conspiracies, they spent most of their terms in wars and invasions. The Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir spent most of his period in wars for distracting the Sudanese people since he came to power 22 years ago.
He is now escaping from his internal problems to the borders as the situation in the Sudanese capital are tightened , and the political forces have called for ending his bloody rule. Al-Bashir announced that he wants to liberate Higlig and overthrow the government that is governing Juba in southern Sudan.
He wants to convince his people that he wants to liberate one town, while he is the self same person who sold the whole south five years ago, when he found that he is internationally beleaguered because of his crimes in the west and south of the country.
He wants now to distract the Sudanese people with a new war, and because of this war, he seeks to recruit the youth coercively for fighting , thinking that he can, by this old cheating to extend his ruling for more years, and escape the public rage against him.
In the name of fighting the foreigners, the unification of the internal front, curbing the conspiracy, he will prevent all his opponents from opposing him and send those who criticize him to prisons. This is one of his old tricks, where he had lived two decades of internal wars, that exhausted his opponents and tamed the opposition leaders, like al- Sadeq al-Mahdi who are now scared to rebel against him for fear of his oppression.
Will Sudan, which lived the worst of his history under al-Bashir's rule, agree to be dragged into another of his wars. Al-Bashir's wars never end. They are in the Nuba areas in Kordofan, the Blue Nile, Darfur and now with the southern Government in Abyai, besides he is internationally wanted for the genocide crimes he had committed against his people in Darfur.
Bashar and Al-Bashir are two models of governing that is based on security and military without any other values. They will too far in committing more crimes whatever their stay costs.
And as al-Asad regime's genitals have recently been exposed, al-Bashir who have deceived many of the Arab intellectuals by his lies that he had enveloped with nationalism, Arabism and Islam has also been denuded. It didn't take long to discover the other face of a bad leader like al-Bashir. He had overthrown a regime that had been chosen by the Sudanese people, and pledged that his government will be transitional, however the Sudanese since then only knew two options; to be involved in internal wars or to immigrate abroad, till he evacuated the country for himself, his relatives and his close military leaders.
Bashar's fate in now in the hands of the Syrian people to determine whatever they want in their revolution which had not stopped for one day since it started more than a year ago, and al-Bashir is still hoping that a war will breakout with the south so that he will impose a new state of emergency, to continue closing down the press and generalize treason accusations against his opponents.
