Last Saturday, 30 June, the communication committee (CC) ended its period which was limited when it was formed by a decree issued by president Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi nearly two months ago. CC, which consists of 8 people including two women, its work focused on contacting with different political forces on the Yemeni field, whether those inside Yemen or living abroad.
It is not known actually whether President Hadi will again grant CC extra time to complete its functions in preparation for forming the preparatory committee for national dialogue, which the process of its formation seems to take more time due to the complexity of the Yemeni political file and the implications and pluralities of its issues, as well as complexities of every file, such as southern issue, Houthi, chaos and structure of the coming political system files.
In addition to all those youth issues, I mean "future issues" which they went to streets for them demanding the overthrow of the regime of president ali Abdullah saleh till achieving this goal, while the rest of goals are still unachieved, since "deny falsehood" is the most accessible process ever, while most of the problems are embodied on "defending rights" which represented on building the new system based on rule of law, good governance, values of justice, freedom and equality.
As for the clearness of the forthcoming step which will be taken by President Hadi in the process for the preparatory process of dialogue, it will be important for various currents to initiate to form its perceptions in a realistic manner, away from nihilism, preconditions, and crippling demands.
Southern issue file seems to be the most complex and intertwined in the process of the preparation of the national dialogue. Although the meetings held by CC with a number of opposition southern leaders home and abroad, it apparently did not come out with a specific vision or final perception about the mechanism by the dialogue on this file,
let alone the problems which will be presented in front on the representation process, whether in the preparatory committee for national dialogue conference which is to be formed soon, or in the national dialogue itself which will be held after two months of formation of the preparatory committee, where it is supposed to complete its functions during that period.
In reality the southern file will face many difficulties, as it is hard to specify a specific part and say it represents all the south, new president Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi is the son of the south and is known for his unification-loving and believing that unity of Yemen is the best option for all Yemenis, let alone that this option is widely supported for the regionally and internationally, keeps Yemeni interests more effectively and avoids them conflicts.
Staring form his deep conception, he knows that the problem that faced the unified Yemen was not in the matter of unity itself, but in mismanagement of the unified Yemen whether during the First Transitional Period (1990-1993) or in what resulted in the war of the summer of the year 1994 such as removal or bad treatment against the southerners and their exclusion afterwards- the opposition and loyalists as the same- from the actual participation of full aspects in the national decision in general or even in the decisions concern the southern Governorates.
The parties that participate in rule now have their existence and weight in north and the south and it is impossible to consider the southerners who affiliate to them are not representing the southern issue for merely all these parties consider that the continuation of the Yemen Unity is the only choice with their readiness to examine the presented choices of the form of the one Yemeni state.
On the other hand, we find that the southern powers that have started their opposing activity since 2005 and developed demands some of which recently are visualized in "disengagement" were depending on the continuation of the regime of the previous president in power, with their understanding that his obstinacy and rejection for any serious treatments would offer them everyday more of regional and international sympathy on their demand of secession.
However; the Peaceful Public Revolution and the overthrow of Saleh's regime and the coming of a southern president as his successor put these powers in a confusing state as the rational political logic says that the cause of the problem has gone and that the justifications of the secession have been ended and that there is a real chance today for building the law, justice and equality state, restoring the looted things to their owners and hindering the corruption that destroyed the components of the state and exhausted its resources, considering the demands of secession or disengagement were logic under the shadow of a regime insisted that there was no a southern problem, but it was irritating it by its refusing any actual treatment.
Today, there is no justification for demanding secession and disengagement under the shadow of the big change occurs in the country. It should at least give the new regime its full chance for treating such problems which will be necessary presented in the table of the national dialogue and there is no need for any advance conditions as long as the roof of dialogue is opened for accepting all demands.
With the length of the period of the national dialogue in its various stages, the Government- presided by one of the leaders of the South liberation from British colonization, who has lived through two epochs Mohammed Salem Basandwah- will have a golden chance for implementing several service, economic programs and housing plans treatments in the southern Governorates in front of which is Aden which is considered as the safety of the Yemeni Unity, its considered symbol and its beating heart.
