Again and through the Egyptian presidential elections, that resulted in the victory for the revolution candidate Dr. Mohammed Morsi, Egypt proves that it is the pioneer and leader in the peaceful change process. Today it proves again that it is great, after we have for decades witnessing the frightening backwardness, due to the domination of tyranny and controlling the state by the corruption gang. Although Mubarak kept singing the praises of a seven-thousand civilization, but without being able to make a single achievement to prove his belongs to this civilization.
Nowadays, it is the right for the Egyptian media to praise belonging to the ancient past through the brightening present made by the Egyptian people themselves.
For the first time, I, like an Arab belonging to the generation of revolution, feel that I cannot control my heart beats that are full of joy, seeing the victory of the people’s will over the forces of darkness, deception, looting and corruption. Here are the people who proved that they can destroy the idol of injustice and break the shackles of tyranny and despotism, and that their voice cannot be in vain, for the base of right is the people. Egypt has proved that the people’s voice is stronger than that of the rulers and military leaders.
Today, the history of Arab victories draws a new page in the book of glorious national struggle for freedom, democracy, justice and truth.
I am very proud that I am an Arab who came out to streets with brothers and sisters to defend the determination of people to support the right and face the injustice and terrorism. Especially that I have taken part in the protests in Tahreer square when I was in Cairo. I have seen with my own eyes how the youths had a feeling of great love for the Arab nation. I went there in solidarity with them and found them very concerned with Egypt. They were defending the oppressed in Syria and Yemen, and the other rebellious Arab countries.
The Arab World has become greater in the eyes of the world today. This unprecedented event is a great achievement of the era, as it has come from the womb of revolutions of the oppressed people, who sacrificed lives of its youths to have the right of self determination and make their own future. This came after those oppressed people used to take the first places in poverty, hunger and ignorance. We have become defeated countries due to the increase of the number of those stepped on by the tyrant, raise of the illiteracy percentage among us, wide spread of thugs in our neighborhoods, as well as the grow of political detainees in prisons.
It is the people who grant the human being the right of life and dignity. Here are the cries of the people who refused but to live in freedom, dignity and independence, and rejected humiliation or begging their bread from others. Here are the people who brought out the spirit of our nation and returned its emergence in a greater way. The emergence which does not accept leniency or abandonment of the people’s rights, freedom, aspirations. This is to be achieved through a quantum leap bringing prosperity to the Arab societies, by giving the chance to the bright minds to run the country and provide the appropriate atmosphere, in which future children would be raised in a new life that provide health, education and open the door of progress, development and prosperity for them. Those future generation shall grow feeling proud of their countries and working to develop them and arm them with knowledge and inventions that bring the countries to the ranks of developed nations, instead of exhausting those energies in the swamp of the loyalties that achieve noting for nations, as much as it serves tyranny and tyrants.
The greatest feature of the Egyptian scene today is the exchange of roles between the prisoner and jailer. The jailer now lies behind the jail bars waiting for death or completing the life imprisonment, while the ex-prisoner has moved to assume the power of the ex-jailer. The difference is that the ruler of yesterday did not represent the desire of people and did not consider it, while today’s ruler came upon the decision of people and will leave upon their demand. The prisoner of today was put in jail by the verdict of people and judiciary, while yesterday’s prisoner imprisoned unjustly and without any charge or a sentence, neither from a fair nor unfair judiciary.
In the past, the ruler depended on oppression, forgery and falsification of people’s will, so it was not a big deal for him that his popularity increases or falls. But today, the criterion of the survival of the ruler in power depends on the extent of his response to people’s demands, fulfillment of his commitments to the electors. In addition to the credibility of “actions not words”, for people are the one who judge and decide wither to keep or overthrow the president in and from power.
That is the great Egypt; making lessons for those who want to learn.
